WELCOME!

I created this site to "showcase" some of the photographs I've taken that, for one reason or another, I believe are worth sharing. I find enjoyment and reward (and now instant gratification) in digital photography. It's an amazing (if not challenging) way to unwind and enjoy the beauty around us.

Some of my friends share this same sentiment and that led us to create Blue Mesa Photography.Com, the site that probably brought you here.

CAMERA...

I use the Pentax K200D - and I love it. Sure there are more capable cameras, some even less expensive, but when it comes to the total package, I'm sold on Pentax. So is Consumer Reports, who made the K200D camera of the year. Go check it out!

 

LENSES...

I have a few lenses that I make sure I always have on the ready. Always mounted to the camera is my favorite lens, a TAMRON 28-300mm telephoto lens. I love it and it works in virtually every setting I've asked it to. I have the PENTAX 18-55mm lens that came with the kit I bought. I recently purchased a Pentax 10-17mm lens - a wonderful lens especially now that I'm taking more panoramic shots.

I enjoy chasing the ultimate photograph. While I know what I like, technique and proper settings can be an elusive result. Enter - Scott Kelby. His series of books dealing with digital photography is one of the best written series I've come across. So, if anyone's looking, these books are worth every penny. Give them a look - you'll be glad you did!
