Larry's photo-bio

I am an extremely serious semi professional photographer & have had a keen interested in photography since I won a Kodak 620 camera at my grade school “Cake Walk” in 1952. (I realize I'm dating myself here a bit.) I developed a serious interest during my college days & became senior photography editor for our college yearbook in 1968. I purchased a new Pentax Spotmatic camera, (my pride & joy at the time) which I still have. I am married (just shy of 45 years) & we have two grown children & four grandchildren.

In the past decade, I have rekindled my interest in photography & am thoroughly enjoying it. Living in Western Colorado, with Ouray (the Switzerland of America) only a short 35 minute drive to the South, affords virtually unlimited opportunities for mountain hiking & scenic photos. I love to hike, photograph, and generally spend time in the out doors (weather permitting).

I currently teach basic photography classes & have a completely equipped, professional, modern studio. I specialize in studio & environmental portraiture, landscape & real estate photography. (See classes section  above)

I am also a professional firearms instructor specializing in personal defense (concealed carry) training & numerous other disciplines. Web Site:
